I haven’t always been into fitness, but I was active in my younger years. I grew up as a missionary kid in Papua New Guinea, and my days were filled with exploring the jungle, swimming at the beach, and chasing friends around our small village. I moved back the the US for college when I was 18, and shocked my body by living like a typical American. I played a lot of video games with friends and ate a lot of fast food. Not surprisingly, I gained weight.
I decided to do something about my weight problem at the beginning of my junior year and bought a 3 year pass to 24 hour fitness. Results were minimal. I found more success when I started playing sports with friends. I still wasn’t in good shape, but at least I was active a few times a week. I kept hitting the gym from time to time and was generally happy with my level of fitness.
That all changed in 2012 when I accepted the invitation from a friend to attend a class at the place he worked out. The workout looked simple, but I couldn’t even finish it! Intrigued, I started researching functional fitness more and decided to give it a try. After trying out a few gyms, I have found a home at Boombox North . My membership here challenges me physically, emotionally and spiritually. I chose to coach because this gym has changed my life in many different ways! I believe in the our program and I cherish our community here at Boombox. I hope I can be part of a life changing experience for anyone who walks in our doors.
